Damn Carolina Weekes was too good today.

So now who should I cheer for (I'm leaning towards Toronto)?

Also who do you think will take The Stanley cup this year?

The Red Wings are heading for Lord Stanley's Cup. If not them, it'll be whatever team comes out of the Western Conference. All four remaining teams are much better then the four left from the Eastern Conference.

National Hockey League Championship Trophy.

It's North American Ice Hockey. "Hockey" there is actually Ice Hockey, not this wussy grass hockey we play here.

Here in New Zealand we only get a minimum number of games and one of the games shown was the Canadiens vs. Bruins game when Zednick was knocked for a six.

The question I have was: "did what Kyle McLaren did deserve more of a suspension than what he got?"

initally the hit look pretty fucking brutal (pardon the french) but on viewing replays just looks careless.

I think he deserved a more severe sentence than what he got.
Zednik has a couple of bones in his face broken and he has a big
commotion cérébrale(pardon the english,don't know the words:D )
I think he deserved more than a 3 game suspension, not because Zednik plays for my home team, but because it's not hockey when you play like that it looks more like UFC with sticks:rolleyes:

NHL playoffs are a bunch of BS.

Why the hell the have to play so many damn games?? Everything is best of 7 now.

And the home team has NO HOME ICE ADVANTAGE. The road team seems to always win.

Why didn't anybody ever take Wayne Getzky out?

I know if it legal to fight in basketball somebody woulda cleaned Michael Jordan's clock.

I think that a seven game series is better than just a 1 off game as you really get the better team. Down here most sports are a single game final and you don't always get the best team winning on the day.

Home ice advantage does seem to have disappeared. As new rinks are built (all of similar sizes and proportions) there are becoming fewer differences to give the home team an advantage. The is also more pressure on the home team to perform infront of their fans and as a result they choke under the pressure

Clearly, you are not a fan of the game. I wish there were a few more rounds played as a best of 11 series. I enjoy hockey so I want to see more - not less. The home ice advantage has more to do with money (the players get more for finishing higher in the standings from the TV money the leage takes in and the owners have the potential for more home games - souveniers etc.) then it does with an actual advantage to playing the game itself.

If you have't guessed yet I love ice hockey.

Now for my next question.

What team do you think has the best looking jersey (home, away or alternate)?

My personal Fav at the mo is the Senators road strip. Love those colours. The bloody things are soo hard to find down here and soo bloody expensive :(

Im a huge hockey fan myself. My favourite team is definitly the Leafs, and I like there away jerseys, but not a big fan of the home ones.

Not alot of places around here sell jerseys, or otherwise I would have me a leafs one :D
