Are these good mods to start with?

Well, I just purchased a 99 eclipse spyder GS (2.4L FWD). I know it isn't 2000+ but it has the same 4G64 engine. I am having trouble finding performance mods for this particular engine and drive train. I am thinking about starting off with an intake, new plugs, plug wires, header, downpipe, high flow cat, and cat back (I would really like a muffler with the tip that exits at an angle :D ). But the problem is most parts that I find are for turbo and/or AWD cars.

What companies make these parts that I want and which ones do you recomend?
What other mods should I consider?

Thank you for all of your help!

though your car is equipped with the 64, it still is more akin to the 63 found in the 2nd and 1st generations because of it orientation.

as far as your mods- they sound good, but IMO, i would start out with your suspension- new shocks/springs, RSTB, quality tires, brake parts, etc, before nvesting in an intake, exhaust...these sites should provide some use, even though most are geared towards the 3g- scroll dowwn a bit and you will see them

the 97-99 spyder RS/GS have the 4G64 engine. however, the engine is not exactly the same. the intake for the 2G 4G64 is on the opposite side as the 3G 4G64. also, there are no intakes to my knowledge that are made for 2G 4G64.

I'd suggest getting the necessary 2g turbo parts and turbo charging your 64, you'll be much happier that way and you'll have a lot more torque than the 63's
