A/C Problems

I have 97 EB Explore and the problem I am having is that when I'm driving and the A/C is on if I Accelerate to quickly the a/c cuts out and starts blowing hot air. Also if I'm on the highway and have the cruise set and start up a little hill it does the same thing. It seems that anything that puts a little extra load on the engine causes this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It has what is called a wot(wide open throttle) cutoff switch which if you floor the gas pedal all the way it cuts off the a/c compressor to prevent damage.Id start checking from there.Hope that helps

Any idea where this switch is located. I've been scouring the internet for documentation and I'm coming up with zilch.

I cant remember right off the top of my head.
