ION 2 Idle Stumble

Have an 03 manual trans with 25 k miles. When the engine is revved and returns to idle, it drops below minimum RPM and stumbles, then the idle control motor picks up the RPM. Put in a new air filter but it made no difference. Any thoughts? It still under warranty but I am afraid to take it in since if it is only a dirty throttle body, the dealer will charge a lot. Otherwise runs great, hot or cold.

you can clean the throttle body with some carb and choke cleaner. but it may just be the IAC can't react fast enough. sometimes this is "normal" but on occation if a manufactior sees this complate enough times they will design a updated part, i doubt that is the case this time but if i get a chance i will check the TSBs tomarrow.

I cleaned the throttle body but it did make much of a difference.

I saw that the idle control valve can be cleaned so I will try that.
