Can somebody explain to me why it seems like my car gets slower with every upgrade? When I first purchased my car it had a 2.5 downpipe, cat and exhaust, kn filter; with this setup I ran a 13.9 1/4 mile. Then I installed a 2.5 testpipe, balance shaft eliminator kit, rewire kit for the fuel pump, and a mbc set at 15 psi, with these upgrades I clocked a best time of 14.2, which means i got SLOWER!!!!! So i installed a 190 fuel pump and an evoIII 16g, now my best time is 14.6.....what the heck is going on???????

You need to do some tuning with your new setup.

Is your mph getting higher or lower? ET means you suck as a driver... mph won't lie.

just a question of my own, but would it have to do with his bigger turbo setup and a 2.5 inch Exhast ? wouldnt it flow betetr with a 3" ?? could that be A problem. ?

evo 3 should still be faster then a 14b even with a 2.5 exhaust.

it probably needs a good tune, maybe a tuneup and then you need to practice youre driving. are your reaction times staying the same? did you drive it and get a 13.9 or was that the guy you bought it from driving? have you checked for boost leaks and everything?

I was driving when i got the 13.9!!! When I have the gas pedal to the floor it feels as though the power just isn't there anymore. I can hear the turbo spool up very loudly but my rpm just isn't rising all that fast.

We already told you what the problem was. You need to tune the damn car. You can't just throw on a bigger turbo and expect it to magically run 12's.

You also need to check for boost leaks, get an aftermarket boost guage so you can accurately tell exactly how much boost you are doing, and probably upgrade your injectors to compensate for the increased airflow.
