problem with tranny

when I'm racing "street legally" and I shift into third the transsimison grinds into third gear, Has anyone else had this problem or am I just shifiting to fast. 2.3l duratec. By the way, does anyone know where the redline is for the 2.3 duratec.

It sounds like your synchro mesh gears are going out on third in your tranny. Can you say..........REBUILD? Anyways, your redline should be at 5k or 6k. I've seen people shift at 7, but not good.
