I hope so man. I ned my tranny wires, oil sending unit, alt wires, and my battery and starter wires. I cut all of them off like a dumb ass and i just shoulda left them on there. oh well, you live and you learn. but ill be happy as hell when i hear the 5.0 screamin.
thanks yall

also i couldnt help but notice youre doing the swap from a 60 degree V6 to a 90 degree V8, you are aware the V8 will not bolt up to your factory transmission right??? youll have to replace it.

yeah definately. I was gonna use my 700r4 in my v6 but the housing isnt nearly the same on a sbc so i gotta stick with a turbo 350. I havent ever had a turbo 350 but i hear good things about them like how they can withstand alot of HP, but with a stock 305 w/o a/c and headers and gear drive, i may be lookin at 250 HP at tops. I really liked that overdrive though. it was def. sweet. Im very anxious to see what that tranny is gonna be like. Oh hey, I bought new motor mounts cuz i gotta have v8 mounts for my 305, and i was lookin on my frame, where do i bolt up the new mount ? it looks as if there are a couple of places... like one thats closer and one thats about an inch further out on the frame. someone told me ill have to get a chiltons manual to figure it out but is there any easier way to do it ?
Thanks man,

there are four holes in the mount, but youll only use three of them. when you position the mounts over the holes there will be two bolts across the top of the mount and you will use the bolt hole on the back of the mount on the bottom, the forward lower edge will actually hang off the edge of the k member, thats ok.
in regard to the TH350, keep in mind that the length might be different requiring a different length driveshaft, and youll also need an adaptor bracket to mount the torque arm from the rear axle as the th350 does not have a provision for this.

the Haynes manual hass all the wiring schematics in it and almost everything else. It's what I used when I did my swap.
Use the bolt holes closest to the radiator. you will need a (7" or longer) socket extension and a swivel adapter in order to reach the bolt on the backside, because the springs on the suspension are in the way. you could take the springs out (like I did, only because I got new ones) but that's a lot of work.
Hope you didn't cut the ignition wires.... opps... just read it again... you did. Don't run new ones without talking to chevy and getting into their 3000page camaro manual (they have a small library, although they might not want to let you in). you need to find out the correct gauge of those starter/battery/alternator wires. Otherwise you run the risk of electrical fire.

yeah its a little too late for that. well. I was gonna ask something, do i need to remove the A-frame from the front in order to get good clearence to the motor mount holes ? cuz i still gotta remove the old v6 mounts and it looks like theres no room. so i guess you didnt remove the a frame ? hmmmm, well it looked like as if i had to but ill double check on it tomorrow. oh yeah, can i use my old springs or do i have to get new ones cuz im puttin in a 305 ? (I used to have a v6 2.8) ?

I guess you're talking bout the control arm. I lifted the car up and dropped it down, and took the spring out. I wanted to put in lowering springs anyway so I did it at the same time.
http://bengal.missouri.edu/~klm217/camaro/update/suspension.JPG
I used vice grips to hold the bolt and I untightened the mount from the other side. it was easier and otherwise you need two people to do it... or really really long arms. I welded my new mounts in because it was easier and for the level of torque I'll have, it's a good idea.
You can use your old springs if you want to. although I don't think my car sits low enough even with the lowering springs. and I don't know if the spring rate on the factory springs will give a confortable ride on the 8cyl. Most aftermarket lowering springs are sold specifically for the V8 and so I'm sure they have different spring rates, but it might no be a whole lot of difference with the factory ones. Try it.
