im looking at tiburons

Hey my sister is looking at tiburons but before i let her get one i wanted to know how reliable they are, what kind of problems have you guys had with them. What to watch out for, is there any odd things to keep up on besides the normal mantainance ? if theres any input or advice you could give me as to wheather or not to purchase one would be great. thank alot oh yeah ( year 99 ish)

um.... well 1st gens aren't my thing, but 2nd gens have very little problems (my girl's got a 01 and the only thing replaced are fog light bulbs and a radiator cap.) very spiffy machines if you ask me.

yea im a 3rd gen guy, but ive never heard any common problems with the 1st gens, so they seem that they are pretty reliable.....

I have a '99 Elantra (same platform and powertrain as the Tiburons) and I haven't had any problems with it (I've had it for just over 3 years, bought it used) It's got almost 70k miles.

Hyundai in general produces Consumer Reports: Most reliable car in America, 04-05 Sonata. And is tied with Honda 2 years in a row in Initual Quality studies from JD Powers.
Hyunai has 2 problems per 100 cars. the only Vehical manufacture that beats that is Lexus. They are also the 4th largest Foreign importer of vehicals into america at a litte over 450,000. right behind Honda, Toyota, and Nissan. As well as the 7th largest auto manufacture in the world. With the single most sifisticated manufacturing plant on earth to date.

There used to be a document in HyundaiDealer.com listing all the allocades Hyundai has recieved in the last year(s), and I would have posted it, but since losing my access I can't retrieve the list or anyother for that matter. :banghead:
