haha.. for those of you who remember back in the day with my whole "lowering dillema", i finally grew some balls and just did it.. dad "sorta" knows about it, but he chooses to just look the other way. i don't think he cares anymore.. hehe.

i dropped it on kyb agxs and eibach pro kit springs.. i have a 2 finger gap up front and a 1 finger gap out back due to my heavy system :uhoh:.

personally i don't really care if dad notices.. he'll have to get over it now  i think it looks hella sweet. i'll take pics soon!

he didn't want me to lower it because he hates change and he thinks every mod i do will fuck the car up.. he doesn't know anything about aftermarket car parts and doesn't understand that lowering my car makes it safer.. he just doesn't care about it and so he doesn't want to learn the benefits of it. he basically is just worried about something breaking and because the car is in his name he thinks he'll have to pay for it.. if something goes wrong with one of my mods or anything else for that matter i will pay for it because he calls it MY car even tho its in his name.. its my car, my responsibility.. oh well.. its on, it works, and i'm happy.. :D

ohh. lowering your car wont make it safer because it makes it more vulnerable to blowing a tire when it bounces and the tires scrape.

how can lowering it make it safer?

only thing I can think of is a lower CG?

but thats not gonna help going over speed bumps or rough roads...

i say lowering makes it safer because if its done right, with performance struts and springs, it makes the car's overall handling better. in an emergency situation this could help drastically IMO.. also the lower CG is a good thing.. maybe i'm completely wrong but i trust my car a lot more now than with my stock dampers and springs when it comes to cornering and emergency handling..

and since when was going over speed bumps a dangerous manouver?

dude, just install a better swaybar.. that will allow you to turn at higher speeds while keeping the car more level, and the wheels on the ground. lowering the car doesn't make it safer

you guys can say what you want but i think any improvement to the handling of the car makes it safer in some reguard... this wasn't the main point of my thread anyway.

everyone leave the man alone.
anyways i found that since handling is better and the CG is lower, you can say it could be safer, but for me... now since my suspension is stiffer, my tires give more, since my suspension isn't the one giving out first

yeah ok, I'll give it up. My point was just that you're more likely to scrape over a speedbump or a bad road with a lowered car. That could knock things loose or chip things, etc...

But he is right that it would improve handling a little. So, anyways, just get some pics up!

hey man, i jsut wanted to say im on your side and i know EXACTLY how you feel. everytime i try to talk to my dad (who owns my car) about modding it, he threatens me with taking it away. he will definitely not let me lower it (gonna do it secretly of course) and i had to fight for a month to be allowed to get new wheels. it's glad to know someone else is going through the same thing i am. :)

Damn, dude, I remember when you first got that thing! it's about time you lowered it, can't believe it took you so long, can't wait to see those pics. My dad's like that too, but now I'm in college and he can't say anything since I don't live with him anymore, hehe.

I'd feel a lowered car is safer than stock height. It handles better and corners better. There's been times when I've had to swerve really hard to one side, and I've been able to recover. Now if it was stock suspension, I would've been in deep shit and totalled the car.

You're only gonna scrape on something if you go over a speedbump or into a slanted driveway too quick, but how dangerous is that otherwise?
