Are these good mods to start with?

Well, I just purchased a 99 eclipse spyder GS (2.4L FWD). I am having trouble finding performance mods for this particular engine and drive train. I am thinking about starting off with an intake, new plugs, plug wires, header, downpipe, high flow cat, and cat back (I would really like a muffler with the tip that exits at an angle :D ). But the problem is most parts that I find are for turbo and/or AWD cars.
What companies make these parts that I want and which ones do you recomend?
What other mods should I consider?
Does a cat back for a FWD car fit turbo and non turbo?
Thank you for all of your help!

uh oh. Ok, there arent any performance mods on the mass markert for 2.4l spyders. I know cuz I used to own one :) There's not much to do besides all the stuff you mentioned above, but this car cannot be made a whole lot faster without some sort of forced induction. Check out 4g64.com

Thanks for the info.
By the way I love your front bumper. It resembles the stock one alot. It's te best looking one I've seen for our cars. Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking?

You might want to post this in the 2000+ Eclipse forum because the 2000-2005 RS/GS Eclipse came with the 4g64, which is your engine. They might have more ideas or tricks. Just a thought :sunglasse

FOR THE PLUGS I RECCOMEND DENSO
WIRES NOLOGY
HEADER DC SPORTS SHOULD MAKE ONE
DOWNPIPES ARE FOR TURBOS :frown:
ANY MUFFLER SHOP WILL HAVE A HIGH FLOW CAT
AND I'M PRETTY SURE APEXI MAKES THE N1 OR GT SERIES CATBACK FOR YOUR CAR

Wow. This is really wrong. Don't listen to this guy at all. Honduh owners need to stick to their own forums. Turn off your caps by the way.
1. NGK is the recommended brand for DSM's.
2. Nology wires are HIGHLY overpriced. There are many alternative wires that offer similar performance for a much lower price.
3. Downpipes are not just for turbo cars. Normally when buying a header, a downpipe will be included.
4. Apexi and similar brands of exhaust are just piping like anything else. A custom setup would be much more cost effective, and provide the same thing. Just throw a decent muffler on it.
