A friend of mine went to bleed the brakes (brakes are stiff, almost no stopping capacity) but was unable to locate the bleeder valve. Is there a trick to where it is located, or should I find someone more adept at brake work?

Ok... To do this you have to start furthest from the Master Cylinder so probably rear left to rear right then same with the front. The bleeder valves are located near the brakes themselves. Take the first tire off and follow the brake line down to the brake. They're prolly covered with filth so clean them up a little bit. The valve itself it small but you'll need an open faced wrench. The valves are short with a circular type head and a hole in the middle.. Happy hunting

Thanks for your quick response. The friend claims that he spent an hour looking for the valves themselves, to no avail. Can you be more specific with where near the brakes they might be. I haven't looked at them myself so I'm very unfamiliar with the set up. Thanks again.

Ok I just went and looked at my 96 cherokee's bleeder valve and to be more specific they are on the back of the caliper facing the body of the car. It should be right above where the rubber brake hose meets the caliper.

Trust me, there will be more questions. The truck has plenty of problems. First things first though. Again, thanks.
