P38 Rear Bulbs

Hi all,
I have a 1999 P38 with upgraded lights, I have purchased some very nice LED bulbs for the rear lights, but found they dont fit! All information I have states that the rear bulbs are either type 380 or 382 which are single pole, with the pins at 180' However when removing my indicator bulb (382?) I have found that it is a single pole but the pins are not at 180' but more like 90' apart.
1. Has any one come across this same problem?
2. Does anyone know if you can directly retro fit the pre upgrade bulb holder to new lights.
3. If not does anyone Know where I can purchase the LED indicator bulb (amber) for this bulb holder.
