I started this tread hopping that you guys might have some tips on prying off an inake manifold without damaging it. What works best?

Well, all of them are hard to remove.
305 TPI that is and it looks like ill be needing a hammer

why are you pulling off the manifold, are you going to give it to me? i need one for my caprice

Make sure all of the bolts are out then grab it by the fuel rails and heave up on it, it'll come right off.

I used a large flathead screwdriver on mine. Worked like a charm.

NO HAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!
use a prybar or a large screwdriver between the intake and the cylender head. it should pop off with a bit of pressure.

thanks a lot for the tips, but my car is unique-it took a 1 meter rench between the runners and plenum to take apart the TPI setup, looks like the manifold is stuck real bad + 4 bolts on it are frozen or broken already,so i am drilling out the bolts.

lol well i would imagine that four bolts would hold the intake on pretty good.
