Gone in...14 Seconds?

Ok, so any suggestions on what it would take to get my baby runnin <14 second 1/4? If at all possible, I would like to do it w/out the addition of Super/Turbocharger. Funds are a bit tight, but if the charger is the only way, then I will do it. I ask because I have recently been offered sponsorship if I can run my car 14 seconds or less. As of right now, I have CIA, 2 1/4" Cat w/Magnaflow Muff, STS, NGK Iridium. Appreciate any input.

you could go with new throttle body intake manifold and port and polish the head but i dont have a clue how much that stuff would cost. you would have to look intto that. and get some headers. msd ingnitoon system, i've been told thats the best. lighter flywheel maybe upgrade the clutch i dont really know how much the stock clutch can handle lighter rims

port and polish everything, get some aggressive head work done

get some nitrous... blah
then after all thats done, throw in a turbo charger, and youll be pretty set

First off, I'm runnin my 01 Tib. 2.0L, i4. Right now im sitting at right above 16s average. (Course I do believe that the car can push out faster runs, but I just started into this whole racing thing back in Feb. Still learning.) Anyways, I have plans to add BBTB, Headers, Plug Wires, and do some weight reduction. Working on a way to take out the back seat, and put in a light weight seat length box for my Subs. Hopefully all within the next month or sooner. So basically I am looking to cut my time by about 2 seconds.
One thing I looked into is the ECU upgrade. Any takers want to show me where this can be found. Only ones I have come across are for the V6 Tibs, and the one or two I found for i4, were questionable to say the least. Thanx for the input. If I forgot to give you guys any info needed to help make suggestions, I apologize, so just let me know if you have any questions.
And Nisco, I know how you feel bout Nitrous, and I am right there with you. Screw that. I dont wanna be fast when I press a button. I wanna consistantly fly by.

i would find some performance shops around you, or a place online that does porting and polishing.
and look into turbo kits, they can be expensive, but thatll definitely give you the best amount of power by far.

dont get the bbtb if you are not planying on doning anything else to increase airflow cause you can only flow as much air as the smallest opening. if you go with the bbtb you need to do work on the intake manifold and head. got to an enigne shop see what they can do for you with balanceing the engine

Oh, I want as much air flow possible, eventually. But for now, could you set me in the direction of what I would change to compliment a BBTB, and where to find it perhaps.
I am still learning here, so I have a question. Based on what you said, wouldn't having a CIA be not completely pointless, but not nearly as efficent as if all the air flow components were modified, or am I lost out in left field?

As far as the port/polishing, any idea what the cost run, on average.

yes, a CIA is not as efficent as if the all the intake parts were modified. the reason it helps with out moding the rest of intake system is because it is getting cooler air to the engine then if the stock intake was on
to get the most air flow you are gonna want to get a new intake manifold and port and polis the heads. as to where to find the manifold i found one website that had 1 for the tib and i dont remember what is was so when i find it again i'll let you know. 1 thing to remember when selecting the bbtb and intake manifold, is that the outlet end of the throttle body and the inlet end of the manifold are the same size hole. and if you cant make that work you can take one to a shop and get it bored out to match the other one.
for port/polish an eninge shop can probably do that for you.
where do you live?

I am down in Arizona, Phoenix/All Over.

As far as going FI...I plan on it. Just not right now. I am trying to build up speed with a few minor adjustments that will total around the cost of going FI if not less. Also leaves room for the shock factor, if I get lucky enough to grab this sponsor opportunity, then have them throw down for the FI costs. :evillol:

Ok, so, I said I am working at this sponsor...well I didn't get it...yet. Did however get a call back from an application I put in a while back to Sports Compact Pro. Just waiting for them to draft up the contract to sponsor me for 10k$. Great call to get first thing in the morning. I am hoping that with that, I can put my car where I want it to be and grab up the one I have been working for as well.I will probably be buggin you all with more questions once I start getting things rolling.
One thing I am looking at is an engine swap. Might be hard, but would it be possible to fit a Nissan SR20DET S15 under the hood? Or if you have any other links for compatible engines that would be nice.

dont bother with engine swaps....
jus do more reaserch in turbo'ing your beta, trust me its a good platform and can take a beating....
theres enough support out there to get your RD into some real nice numbers....

if you really want to you can take it to an engine machine shop and they can over bore your cylinders well i gotta go get ready for my hearing i'll finish this post when i get back
they took my license those a holes but anyway
you can get your block bluepritned and cylinders over bored to get a few more cu. in. and once you figure out everything your gonna be puting into it(fly wheel, pistons, rods, crank, ect. ect.) get it balanced

Thats what I was thinking. Did some research and it would be more costly to do the engine swap. I know I am going T, and I need an ecu still. Nothing has turned up with my searches. I even have a few friends lookin around, and most the units worth a damn are for the GK, GT models.
