I was wondering if anyone knew what parts I would need to do a full installation of AC in a 1998 Civic DX. It's my girlfriends car and she's thinking of trading it in. I want to know if it will be worth the trouble for us to install AC rather than be saddled with a car payment.

Has anyone done this?

i couldnt tell you for sure...or any of the specifics, but since no one else is answering you..
it will probably cost around 500, you might find junkyard parts for cheaper though. i would stick with the 98 dx, find some parts, buy a manual, and do it yourself.

it will probably cost around 500,

It's going to be a hell of alot more than that...New parts alone are going to be well over a grand.

yeah, its actually not going to be a bad job, or too exspensive if you do it yourself. call a salvage yard and get your AC compressor, the most exspensive part, a whopping 75 dollars, the rest of the parts should run you a couple hundred more, and then go get a manual from your local autoshop and read how to put it on... poof, done. lol
