I am going to have to replace my muffler on my firebird it is a 2000 and it is a V6 I was wondering could I put a muffler from a older firebird lets say 96 -98 model on there the one that has the two tail pipes coming out of it? Mine only has one but I think that two looks good. Or do I have to stick with the one cause it is a V6 or if I can does it have to be the same model sorry such a silly question I am a girl and am not to good at this sort of stuff thanks for all the hellp in advance - Jamie

I have a 98 that has a dual outlet muffler...the kind you are talking about, but mine is a flowmaster so its a little louder than a stock muffler. If you want louder exhaust there are atleast 3 or 4 good brands you can get with a dual outlet muffler, but you can still use your original exhaust all the way from the manifolds. I dont believe that they made V6 firebirds with dual exhaust in 2000, that was reserved for the t/a's. In fact I dont think they put dual exhaust on 90-00 firebirds, and probably even earlier than that.
