'92 explorer-which a/c hose?

I have a '92 explorer that has a leak in the a/c hose coming off the compressor. When searching for a replacement, I find two options, one that fits those made up to 4/1991, and another that is typically unavailable. My explorer was not manufactured prior to 4/1991, but pictures i've seen of this hose/manifold assembly appear to be the same as mine. Does anyone know what the difference is and if it is possible that the 4/1991 hose will fit my vehicle. I don't want to waste a lot of money trying to get the right one, especially since there still may be other leaks after I get this one fixed.

An explorer built 4/91 would make it a 1991 model.
Call ford dealer parts dept and ask for the a/c manifold hose assy.
Basic part number is 19D850. It sholuld still be available.
IF not, ask the dealer if the part number has a motorcraft
equivalent part number. Use this motorcraft number and call
local part stores and ask if they handle motorcraft parts.
If they do order through them with the motorcraft number the
Ford dealer gave you.
Good Luck.

The two options are the results I get when I search any parts store for a '92 explorer, so I can only assume that some '92 models were actually manufactured early in '91? Also when I checked at the local parts store they give me a price that is similar to the 4/91 hose assembly (I didn't know about the two different ones available at the time so I have not yet asked them which hose they were quoting). My main concern was that when comparing pictures of the two, the 4/91 hose appeared to be more like mine. The best thing to do I suppose would be to get a part number off of the part itself and compare that to the replacements, but I'm not sure where to look for a number if there is one. I've seen cases before where vehicles of the same year may have the older or the newer system (not just with a/c systems) on them despite what the books say, especially when there are mid year changes as there appears to be in this case.

Sorry to tell you, if the manifold assy is original, you will not find
an ID number. However, if the manifold assy has been replaced
before, there might be a paper like sticker with the ID number.
Again, if you feel iffy about what to buy, call the dealer. Wish I could give you more info.

You can always take the part off take it down and measure it up to the other part which is always a good idea, with a hard to find part. I have made many trips to the parts store because what was in the computer was the wrong part especially when there is more than one style available, that I have found with the explorers.

I called ford dealers and if the production date is prior to 4/91
it is a different hose assy than after 4/91
IF your Explorer is after 4/91 the ford part number is F3TZ.19D850.B
The motorcraft number is YF-1959
Hope this helps.
