1992 SE or 1992 LE?

Hey the guy said this car was the SE but I see no visual markings to prove also i've seen pics and could not tell which was which. Maybe you guys can help. It has the 3.1 V6 engine in it. Below is a link to pics

It looks to be an LE..If it was SE I believe you would have a console shifter instead of a column one.

...console shifter? as in on the floor?

Yep console shift would be on the floor and column on the wheel.

I know, and it was owned by a mechanic so its been kept up pretty well. The only thing I need to do is put a new stereo in it...a tape deck just wont do.

I agree about the tape deck.Any idea what kind of stereo you are going to put in it?

not sure yet..I'm looking at a couple pioneer decks and as for speakers not a clue. I'm gonna get it done at future shop so i can get it installed. Also another question..The front seat is a bench seat would it be expensive to set it up with two bucket seats?

I dont think it would be too expensive you would have to get some new tracks for the seats,The seats themselves and then to complete it you would also have to get a center console.I would guess if you got the parts from a salvage yard probably around $200-$300 dollars..You could also check out ebay you may even find items cheaper.For speakers I would either stick with what you have or get Pioneers.

yea i need a center console which is why i wanna do it, i have no place to put my cell phone and wallet which i hate keeping in my pockets when I drive

I know the wallet isn't very comfortable..lol Actually I would try to find a console from a mini van.They are a lot roomier.

if you can get me the last 8 digits of your vin, I can tell you if it's an SE or LE. Since it has the bench seat and no Tach, I would almost bet it's an LE, not SE. One more note, when you go to replace the radio, get one that doesn't go too deep in the dash, otherwise you'll have to use an adaptor that looks ugly and makes it stick out about 2" farther than the stock unit. Also, DON'T buy a Sony Xplode f7700, as it sounds like shit turned up high, and the display washes out in the sunlight. I bought one on E-bay because of it's ability to play MP3's, but it's a piece of crap designed radio.

Also i believe the LE has that solid headlight look whereas the SE has 3 individual lights on each side
