Can anyone please explain how to adjust the rear brakes manually? The self adjuster cable got broke and now I'm in a pickle and need to adjust the brakes before i can get around to replacing the cable.
I know there is a little wheel type gear to adjust, but where is it exactly, and which way do I crank it?

There should be a rubber plug on the bottom of the brake housing. Remove the plug and take a flashlight and you should see the "star" wheel inside. To tighten the brakes, take a flat blade screwdriver and move the star wheel down little by little, while checking the brake drag by spinning the tire. If you need to loosen the brakes, there is a spring loaded plate behind the star wheel that you'll have to push with another thin screwdriver to be able to move the star wheel up. Sort of a pain in the ass to do. Good luck.
