hissing under dash/ ac not working

first the ac started to get warmer . now no ac. a hissing has developed under the dash. the dials also go dead often. when I looked at the connector behind the controls one of the wires has over heated.


a friend has asked if I have had the ac regassed and has put me in touch with a bloke who works with ac.

looking at the threads here I'm hoping it's not the evaporator......
any other suggestions.
I have alresdy taken the fuse out and replaced it :sly:
