Gutted Airbox

I want to gut my airbox for the time being until i have enough money to buy a CAI and reloacte my coolant bottle. Will I see any change in performance with a Drop in K&N Filter too with the gutted air box? Thank you in advance

K & N's do flow better, but be careful not to oil them too much, as excess oil can get in your MAF sensor and muck it up.
