Sad, sad day ...Montgomery Scott or Scotty the Chief engineer of the U.S.S. Enterprise on the Orig. Star Trek passed away earlier today :crying: :(

I just heard it as well. Geez, What a bummer - this basically sets a damper on the rest of my night. I'm just gonna chill at home, play some Floyd and reflect, then watch the Star Trek IV DVD.


I guess God decided it his time to be "beamed up".

I'm actually halfway through the original series movies at the moment - 4 is next.

That makes 2 of the original cast gone now...

He will be missed. How many remain now? The original cast that is...

Only Scotty and Doc McCoy have gone, the rest are still here.

In true "Star Trek" fashion, all the crew members will disappear, then Capt Kirk will be alone.

thats sad he was a cool man in real life from everything I read.

Just a couple comments:

1. He was raised in my hometown of Sarnia, Ontario, CANADA!! and went to my old high school (SCITS). I met him a couple years ago for our high school reunion. He was a cool guy !! :thumbsup:

2. I heard he was going to have his ashes blasted into space .... guess it's going to be his final "beam me up" !!!

Always liked him...thought he was one of the better characters in the TV series and movies.

Yeah, he seemed like the kind of guy you could have a few pints with and talk for hours about anything with.

Well, I'm kinda glad he's passed finally. The last couple of years has been a struggle for that guy. His mind was just disintegrating. It was sad to see.

Great actor, my dad had me watch a few episodes when i was growing up and i got hooked i was sad when i heard it on the news..
