Car stalls out.

It starts up and im driving but in the middle of my journey it will stall out. I throw it in neutral start it back up and im good to go.

i read this thread but dont really understand what they are talking about

i was also thinking the alternator needed to be replaced.

Your going to have to give up some more information... What year is it, W or Z Vin#, How many miles on it, Last time you had a tune up, last time the fuel filter was changed? What makes you think the alternator need's to be replaced????????

its a 97 blazer; 98,5xx on the clock;and i bought it in april with 96,8xx on the clock. ill post what the vin starts with when i am able to get the to car. the reason i think its the alternator is because when i brought it to the mechanic i rember him saying that i may need a new one soon

when it stalls out; i lose power steering; my radio shuts off, so everything just shuts off

Ignition switch - run a search for it on the forum. '97's are notorious for it.

Yeh its your ignition switch. Get it fixed. I had a bad ignition switch on my truck and it would just stop intermittently for no reason. Very dangerous!

same exact thign is happening wiht my truck as we speak, i have replaced cpi and nut kit, tuned it up, new throttle position sensor and 02 sensor and i can tell you it is none of the above. As far as the ignition switch i am not really sure yet, my truck is being evaluated right now, ill let you know when i find out what mine is

looks like ill have a new weekend project

well its been a 2 week project for me lol im lucky i have my gf's new car to drive or ide be sol
