01 330xi whining noise

My 2001 330xi has a constant whining noise from the rear. BMW said this is normal but for a 40+K car, I expected better. Does anybody know of this condition, any remedies? Thanks.:confused:

You should expect better.
It may be normal for KIA, It's not "normal" for this car, or any car of this caliber
My dealer told me also it's "normal", then they replaced the rear differential, it's better now.
There is a TSB on this, I think it's 203200 but the dealer won't disclose what the TSB says.

i would take it to another dealer and see, or call
bavarian autosport at 1-800-535-2002 and they specialize in all BMW and they probably can tell what BMW dealer to go to in your area.
