ram air?

how much of a hp would http://www.mustangtuning.com/ramairshscsy.html add? and what does ram air do? just bring air from the hood scoop directly into the engine?

Not that much really. No more than a regular K&N filter is the performance I would expect. Performance wise its not worth 750 dollars. It looks cool though so I don't call anyone an idiot for having it.

ram air doesnt actually "ram" air into the engine, there was a thread about this a while ago and basically physics wont allow it, anyway, yes it may pull some coller air in, but basically they are for looks

ram air helps, but i wouldnt spends the cash on it. you know a s/c forces air into the motor? well... the ram air "kinda" does the same thing, except you wont even get to one psi until like 80 mph. the reason why i know that it helps is because there was a t est on the 03 mach one and they did a dyno and a 1/4 mile run with the shaker hood closed and with it open. im not sure how much it helped, but it definiteley did.

Well I can tell you for sure on a dyno you would see no improvement what so ever.

It will help, but only becasue of the air temp being cooler than inside the engine bay, not because of the ramming effect. Now if the scoops are on the lower side of the bumper, that would help a lot.

what about a cowl? does that have that cooler air effect, or is it all looks?

Yes, cowl induction works, but its because the air inside the engine bay has a place to escape. The cowl on most cars will have a low, therefore causing a suction at the opening of the rear section hood for the hot air inside the engine bay a smooth path out.
