 V6 TBI 140,000 miles
Has been running ruff on and off for a couple of weeks, thought it was a gas problem or module. 2 days ago it decided not to restart. Cranks fine but wont start.
Getting good gas - changed coil - changed ignition module - new plugs, rotor & cap.
Decided to loosen distributor and advance, it started right up with only a 1/16 of an inch move. Still running like crap but would restart easily. Let it sit overnight and it wouldnt start again, moved distributor back and forth and set in same spot. Truck started right up. It still spits and sputters under any kind of load but it will idle fine.
No codes show up.
Any ideas ??
PS - I dont know a lot about auto mechanics so please keep it as simple as possible for me.
Thanks a lot. Mike

Couple connectors down behind the distributor, low voltage and current flows in these circuits and those contacts do get corroded sometimes, really cause problems like this. When it won't start, try wiggling these connectors. This is about the mileage for a fuel pump failure though.
