what type of oil should i use?

Hey everyone i am getting ready to do an oil change on the old Alero and was wondering what the best type and brand of oil is for the 2.2 Ecotec in an 04 ALero. Im not sure and was just wonderinf if someone had a certain brand they used all the time and liked it, thanks a lot.

I use Castrol GTX in a 3.4L. But I've heard a lot of Ecotec 2.2 owners have good results with Mobil 1 synthetic. Running synthetic oil will not void the warranty either.

I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Extended Performance which is supposed to be good for 25K miles, although I go about 5K miles max. I also bought 4 GM filters through RockAuto.com that I use. Even after the shipping, buying those 4 filters in a pack through Rock Auto were cheaper than buying them through the dealership.
