Blown Headlight

I was hoping someone could help me. I have a 2001 Sunfire with a blown headlight. I tried changing the bulb but it did not work. Then I noticed that when I turned on the high beams, the other headlight went out. It came back on when I switched off the high beams. So to recap I got one headlight as long as i dont switch to high beams.. somebody please help

I had a similiar problem with my 01 cavalier. I only had 1 working low beam. When i switched to hi beam, they both worked. I then replaced both lamps and the fuses. When this didn't fix the problem, I took it to a shop. They checked all the electrical lines, and found out that the electrical harness for the lights had been fried form battery acid. After spending $200 total. I found out the part was only like $10. They pretty much rapped me on labor saying it took over 4 hrs. I'm just saying maybe you should remove your battery and check the wires..
