Cannonball Run

I heard about a Cannonball Run that was on the NJ Turnpike today heading to Philly. I heard there were Porsos, Lambos, and other hot expensive cars. The cheapest car was an Audi. They were racing to raise money for Sept. 11th victims and they are going to finish in Cali at Hugh Hef's place. Anyway, I was thinking about having a Cannonball Run for Imports. Modded and non-modded. It would be from New York to Florida on a weekend. Entry fee required, about $100. I would take a small cut for my troubles. Opinions? Think I can pull it off? Would any of you sign up?

You'll need some major backing, some major capital, some major advertising, and a major promoter.

Why would I need backing and capitol? Advertising and promotion is the message boards that I go to and myself.

That ratio of import enthusiasts who surf the boards vs. import enthusiasts in general is very small. You'll need advertisement through other mediums to reach them. i.e. Import Tuner, Super Street, maybe even some radio spots in some major city's.........

there's a cannonball run every year. the fact that it's illegal to hold a sanctioned race on public highways without consent makes sure that it isnt very well publicised.
you dont need major or even minor sponsorship to take part... you just need enough money to last and a desire to drive a long damn time.
it's officially called "one lap of america"
