97 Caravan water on Pass side

About a year ago we had a problem with water coming in from what I thought was the heater core. It was clear water no coolant. I took it to our local garage and he said it was the drain was plugged. Now after $100.00 it was unplugged. How can I do it myself, I think it's plugged again, we are getting an awful musty smell.

Don't know, if this it what your talking about,....but after a car wash I had alot of water come in on the pssgnr side. It turned out to be the drain under the cowl was clogged. I unplugged the hose(close to the firewall coming from under the cowl, one on each side) then I stuck in some compressed air and cleared it out.

If you are getting water in after running the AC for a time, there is a drain hole for all the water that gets condensed out of the air. It's located on the engine side firewall behind the AC/Heater unit and looks like a rubber, cone shaped grommet.

If you are getting water in after a rain storm or car wash, then pine needles or leaves may have collected in the wind shield wiper grill area. There are drain holes where that area meets the fenders that should be free of debris.

I do the following to blow water out of the A/C occasionally. Usually do it before I pull in the garage.
I open the drivers window and then turn the A/C on with the blower on full blast. Then I shut the window, usually you can feel a pressure buildup in you ears like you just decinded a high hill. I let it blow a bit then I shut it off. Usually if I had been running the A/C a lot that day it will have puked out a bunch of water. Has worked for me in a 96 and a 2000 GC. No plugged drains so far after several years.

Would the water inside affect the air conditioning? It would seem that it is not working, and boy has it been hot in our part of Canada!
