Front Speakers Upgrade!!

Sup guys.. I know the factory fittings are 4x6 in the front but I want to up the bass that comes from the front. Im running a total Alpine Type-R system and i want to upgrade the 4x6 speakers in the front.. does anyone know if 5.5 to 6.5 inch speakers will fit in the front doors??? Thanks

I have 5¼ in the front of Alpine Type R and they rock my socks hah!!!

You might need to have some of those peices of metal with holes in it...

I've got my 5.25" JBL's in my doors and they fit fine. I needed to custom make some brackets but they fit. 6.5" speakers might need a little of the metal trimmed.

speakin of front speakers...

i've noticed that my the sound from my right front pioneer speaker tends to have distortion...i don't know if it's the speaker or if it's just vibrating the plastic door panel?...it's only in the front right..any ideas?

i put pioneer 4x6s in the firnt and pioneer 6x9s in the back it sounds pretty good theres just enf bass and the highs are great

6.5's wont fit unless you modify the door panels.

It could have gotten wet somehow, or vibrating some plastic, or worse comes to worse could be blown. My factory speakers blew when I put my aftermarket deck in, and they popped and crackled and buzzzed....I blew them. I guess my cd player puts out to many volts.....8v pre-out....but not sure if that's what blew them.

I think the guy at the audio store just wanted money....but they were blown anyway and I spent the money and got good stuff too. I'm very pleased with Alpine.

What are the stats of the factory 4x6's, RMS and peak wattage?

I'm not sure what they look like....but I know for a fact ehy're not round because if they were round they would be the same ex..4 x 4 but those would just be called 4".

I want to say they're kind of rectangulare maybe but don't hold it against me.

yeah, i looked a couple speakers up, they are like eggshaped to my eye :p
