Thinking about buying a 91 318i

I have the chance to buy a 91 318i for $1,500.00. It has leather, moon roof, nice wheels, and it pretty clean for it's age. It seems to run fine and only has minor body issues ( surface rust ). Can anyone tell me of problems to check for? Maybe some known issues or good question to ask the owner about the history of the car. I am pretty good with cars, but have never ventured into a car like a BMW. Any help is greatly appreciated. By the way I will be using the car as a daily driver for work. About 55 miles a day round trip.
