I saw Charlie and The Chocolate Factory this past weekend. It was different. the few little murmors i had heard were a little true about Johnny Depp lookin like Wacko Jacko. it was entertaining though.

I liked the movie, but it was a 2-hour acid trip. That's all I really have to say about it. Absolute craziness. Tim Burton has officially been named number 1 of Nicole's List of Crazy Ass Directors.

No, I'm saying that movie was comparable to an acid trip.

I don't know. It seemed pretty tame. I was really dissapointed by the ending (since now there are two movies about the book, and niether of them end like the book) I had heard it was going be an F'd up movie, but it wasn't really any crazier than the old movie, it was just as crazy set to a totally different tone. Anyway it wasn't bad, and I did enjoy it.

No movie will ever be comparable to actually taking any kind of hallucongenic drug. Those kinds of trips are far more physical and mental than just visuals. That's why they induce 'state-specific memory', if we can't even remember what it's like to be in that state, there's no way we can reproduce it through simply audio and visuals.

It wasn't intended to be offensive, just saying something for the sake of discussion

I like both, but the new one took it further along in a more realistic theme with the special effects... but it was more surrealistic than realistic; still not as kitchy is that first one. Gene Wilder is still the sardonic Wonka I'll always remember... oh yeah, the oompa loompa songs were totally not what I was expecting...

I though it sucked and was too strange an wasnt suited for my 9 year old bro either... It was a waste of 8.50.
