What's wrong with my car?!?!??

I have a 1993 Chevy Cavalier z24. I drove my car earlier in the day and didn't have a problem with it. However when I started my car and put it in reverse and when I gave it gas to back up, it died on me. Later that day I was driving it again. It wouldn't go over 10 miles an hour, then it would finally kick in. But then the gas pedal would go down on it own and my car would stop moving. I never lost any power. It just wouldn't go. I put in a can of Chemcool (I think that's the name of it) into the gas tank and it ran good enough to get me home. What's causing this? How much is it going to cost to fix it? Do I just need to replace the gas filter or air filter, neither of which has been replaced since I've had my car? Thanks!

You already knew your car was alive?

Are you... like... okay, mentally?

You most likely have a burnt spark plug or wires or both. A simple tune up should take care of the problem. It sounds like your car's cylinders are miss-firing which is causing you to no be able to go more than 10mph.

And if that does not work you might want to look into an exorists

Wow, nfg2184, you dont need to be a prick. Not sure whats wrong with your car. I agree with jeffstew I would just get a tune up and then see if that helped.

Apparently you don't need to have a sense of humor either.

Well gee you went from being a smart ass to a total jackass. And no I don't have any mental problems. But anyways, I had a tune up less than a year ago. I just got my oil changed and I know they did a half ass job with that. Could they have messed something up? It didn't start doing this till the day after I got it changed. Thanks to the people that give real help.

I think your car sucks. You have an automatic with nitrous? That tells me that you are too much of a pussy to drive a manual, but got nitrous so you dont lose to old ladies in their Cadillacs. Also, do you realize you are picking on a girl?

Anyway, are your brakes locking up? The only thing I can think of would be something (I have no idea what) wrong with your tranny. Since no one here is helping, I would take it to a mechanic or call one.

You have ebay rims, my sentra is a stick, and both my cars are faster than yours. But whatever, I made a joke and you have no sense of humor. You're not worth a flame war and I'm not gonna risk pissing off a mod.

My car does not suck. I did have somebody look at it and they said there was nothing wrong with it. The only thing I need to do is repalce my fuel filter. And nfg2184 my car would kick your cars ass.

And no my brakes aren't locking up. The guy said my there wasn't anything wrong with my car and that I should put Chemcool in it about every three tank fulls. I dunno what it was doing the other day.
