I sent my 2004 Quest in for all the recalls, one of which included the passenger seat airbag. I hadn't had any issues, but wanted to keep all the recalls up to date. After getting my vehicle back, I noticed when we went on a trip and my husband was driving the airbag off indicater light was on when I was sitting there. After complaining to the dealer, it appears they regulated the airbag to 125 lbs. and over therefore doesn't work for me. My weight is average for my 5'2" height, so not like I'm skinny. I now feel less protected. Young kids are not allowed in the front seat anyway (at least here in NC) so why regulate so high? Does this annoy anyone else like it does me?

Quite frankly, at your height/weight you about the size of a junior high aged kid. I mean no offense and just becuase your an adult who wants to ride up front doesn't mean the computer can tell!!! They run multiple scenarios with different sized people and determined that at a certian weight the airbags are beneficial and at a certian weight they are not. The vehicle has side impact airbags and the highest gov't crash testing rating (5-star front, back and sides) so they did something right!!! I would suggest that you drive if you want the airbag. I'm sure your husband will set off the airbag on the passenger side. If your not happy with your dealers answers than call Nissan's customer care line directly to deal with this isuue..........
