Hi, I'm not sure if this is the place to share this or not, but I have something very sad and important to say about Hypsi87, or Andy Filson. He died this past Sunday. :( There's more information here...

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161452

I haven't seen any posts about this yet on this page so I thought I would let you guys know. He always used to take being a moderator on this board very seriously and showed me some of the funny photoshop stuff you guys have done.

He let me drive his car once and it was so much fun. He picked me out of a choice of a girl (me) and two other guys, so I was pretty honored. I didn't want to stop driving it. I'm really going to miss him a lot.

I'm at a loss for words. It was with my recomendation that Andy became a moderator, first here at Buick, and then a global. Of all the mods, he was my best friend. It's sad that he's gone, and his knowledge and love for the forums will be missed.

This is with the utmost respect to Andy and all of our forum members.

We will miss you Andy, you were always there when we had a question (or when I had about 600 you were on it all the time and always helped me understand better.)

Andy was doing over 100mph. Speed kills guys, even *with* a seat belt. Remember this the next time you plan to go racing on the highway. We can learn from this terrible tragedy without disrespecting a good man.

Thank you Andy for all your knowledge and caring on the forums.

Thats horrible. I read almost every post this man posted because he was so intelligent. He had so much knowledge of cars, its so sad. Although I never talked to him with P.Ms or on messangers, I have replied to a few threads, and he was very helpful. Sorry to hear about it..

R.I.P. bro.. :(

z28Josh has been kind enough to offer to deliver letters to Andy's family from us if we send them to him. I for one , find the need to express to his love one's how much being friends with Andy meant to me and how much knowing him effected the person I am today. If anyone would like to just take a few moments to write up a little something on Andy let it be a funny post that made you laugh or how he answered your question or PM or how in some way he effected your life as well I would greatly appreciate it, cause Andy gave alot to this forum and if you had known him you know he took this forum and his advice very seriously and we should all in this time express to his family just how much we all appreciated this. There will never be another like him.

Josh's Mailing address to send letters for his family is:

Apartment 101

Wow...I had talked to him on more than one occasion. I read he was thrown from the car...I was shocked to see he was wearing his seat belt. They do save lives...goes to show you...nothing's fool-proof. I was in a horrific accident in my 2001 Honda Prelude last thanksgiving. Rolled it...flew through the trees...whole 9 yards. Due to the wonderful design of that car, and the fact I was wearing my seat belt, I didn't have a scratch on me. It is truely unfortunate that Hypsi wasn't as fortunate. He will be remembered. FYI: He was killed on my birthday...that's even weirder...

RIP, friend.

It's unfortunate to see someone so young die. I work for a florist, and taking an order this afternoon, it was for a funeral for a 19 year old kid who had drowned a few days before. The woman who called sounded choked up, and she only worked with him. It was on my mind for the afternoon.

But let this be a lesson to all of you. You are not invincible. I used to drive well over a hundred in my caddy when I had her, then one day I was speeding on a back road, hit ice, and wrapped it around a telephone pole, nearly killing me and three friends.

Learn from your mistakes, and learn from Andy's death.

RIP andy.

Take it easy travis, the guy hasnt been around for a while and he just found out. I don't mind this thread being revived, Andy deserves a good thread about him.

and to bkvj, if the tire blew at 100, chances are it would have blown at 70 a while later anyway, which can still be fatal.
