I have a 1988 Dodge Caravan 3 litre with 60k miles. When ran cold, there seems to be no problem, but once the engine heats up after 45 minutes or so, it will begin to sputter and won't respond when I press the gas pedal and eventually stalls.
The van ran very well until my grandfather became incapacitated, so it hasnt been ran until recently for the past several years. I originally thought it was maybe moisture which built up in the gas tank until I realized it only occured when the engine was hot.]
Thanks for any suggestions.

Being a Chrysler mechanic as well as owner of more Chrysler cars than I can count on my fingers....I would daresay that the van you are dealing with has more problems than you know. But, to accuratley diagnose things and give you a procedure to go by, please email me, and I will go from there...I believe I know what is wrong with the van, but if the van has sat for several years without running, and you are trying to run it on the same gas that was in it then, you are going to ruin the engine......stop driving it, drain the fuel (ask me how in the email if you need to), and refill it with fresh. If its a v-6 model, you can kill one instantly beyond repair with bad gas...low mileage or not!
