Hey just got our mustang back originally owned by my dad then to to my uncle and now we have it back.I know most people think this car is hideous, but it looks good to me.Still original color of white with oarnge decal. Its gonna be repainted blue with the cobra decal painted on white. The interior for the most part is still in good condition all black leather with wood dash. For the most part the car is stock has overheating problems but thats about all.Stereo system is completely blown. This is my first car and im 15 so it will be a nice fix-up job till i get my licence.Any help on what i can do to make it run and look better would be helpfull. Thanks for any and all help.Hope to get picks up soon.

Those Mustang II's were quite wothwhile. In the late 70's, most every domestic car being sold was pretty crappy for looks/performance, except for mustangs, camaros, f-birds and corvettes.

Lots of '70's cars are now collectalbe, including yours. Yours is especially worthwhile because its pretty much a one owner car after 27 years, and was a top of the line model.

I would suggest keep it fairly close to stock, restore it, dont customize it, to preserve its collector value.
If you have a 302 V8, there are lots of easy bolt-on mods to boost power, such as intake manifolds, carbs, headers etc. Since all these parts are bolt-on, you can reinstall the original parts if you wanted to sell.

That was my first car as well, many moons ago. The darn thing was always breaking on me, and it sucked gas to boot, but I still liked the car even with the headaches it gave me. I like the cars looks, and it can get up and go. Try to fit some wider tires in the rear, my car was always kicking the tail out.

If your worried about resale value Magic has a point, but since its been in the family for so long, I say mod the hell out of it, and enjoy it.

Yeah me and my dad alrerady chose to not worry to much about its collectors value.Just going to get it to good running condition.Though once i get the money it will have as many mods as possible.Yeah already ordered wider tires found out just the first day of getting back the it lost traction real easily. And if you anyone has any idea on a head unit and speakers to replace the stock one.The stock one has just wont keep a station and the speakers are just falling apart.Thanks.

Told ya about that traction problem:D

Just buy any aftermarket stereo and speakers, you can make anything fit;)

I hate T tops, they make the car very weak. If you put any real torque down, I would put a roll cage in that car, but it does look good :)

Yeah i know that the t-top makes the frame weaker but i dont have the money or even really want to add that much torqe im saving the money to buy a silvia. This was just my dads old car that he was happy to get back.I dont know maybe he'll go crazy on it.That would be funny to see him in a a modded mustang just cruisin.
