Moisture in tailights

I just ordered 2 new tailight covers for almost $300 alltogether, my old tail light covers were worn out and cracked, and one even had water inside it, so i bought new ones hoping it would fix the problem. well it did, sort of, im still getting some "fog" i geuss i can call it, building up one the inside of the new ones, but not as bad with the old ones though, but still it sucks knowing i just spent all that money and it diddnt completely fix the problem. i dont know if maybe one of the o-rings by the light bulbs may be whats causing it, or maybe the seal around the whole plastic fixture. let me know what i should do if theres an easy quick fix and if anyone else has had this problem before or if its been known to happen too. thanks!

I would say the foam gasket around the bulb socket is no longer sealing allowing moisture in.

Get a hold of the company you got them from. On new tail lights the only place you should get water is from the spot where the bulb goes in. There is a small gasket that goes around the base.
Write them, for the price you paid, you could get some nice after market lights.
Good luck.

you can buy replacement sockets at about any auto parts store which include the o-ring, just the foam o-rings may be harder to find.

Dealer has them. I think they are are $1.50. If not try their body shop. They always have tail lights they replace. They would more then likly give them to you.

Good luck

We were talking about new ones. The tail lights and head lights are in two peices. That's why I told him to check with where he bought them. If the glue they use is not right, it will leak between the two pc.
With yours, pull them off and look close. You can see where the water is comomg from.

I have one I have to replace, you can't fix them all.

Good luck

I had the same problem with one of my headlights. An easy fix is to lubricate the o-ring with something like vasoline. Did this 4 months ago and havn't had a problem since. This will also extend the life of the o-ring and not cause it to dry out.
