turbo boost

I looked around for a good half an hour before asking this question just to make sure no one had asked it in a while. What is the highest psi boost you can run on a stock Gs-t engine? I mean I don't know what the stock turbo runs at like 6 psi right? So what if I upgraded the turbo, would be the highest amount of boost I would be able to obtain without messing with the stock internals. Keep in mind this is the highest amount of boost I could use and still get the rpms pretty high and not have to worry about blowing a headgasket or throwing a rod.

Have you done anything to the exhaust or the intake? The recommended boost level for stock turbo's after the basic mods was 12 to 15 psi. I saw that in an earlier post a few weeks ago. But before you do that make sure to get a boost guage. Stock turbo DSM's run about 9 psi I was told. I believe you are a 2G so the stock BoV is plastic and leaks around 7-9 psi. Replace with a 1g BoV or an aftermarket.
Good luck!!

The rest is stock but not for LONG!! :evillol:

Eagalicious's advice is solid on the facts. Particularly on getting a boost gauge, and the leaky 2g bov. You can run up to 16psi on the t-25. It's not a matter of what the engine can take, but the t-25. An upgraded turbo can push upwards of 30psi, but it's not the psi but the airflow that is worth considering.
With the airflow to support it, you can run over 400hp on stock internals. No worries there.
Popular turbos include the 14b, evo 16g, and 50trim+ sized guys. Search around a bit.

i dont know how many times people ask this question. its been all over, everyone gets tied up in boost pressure. How high can i turn it up before my engine blows up? the 2 major things you need to reamber is; how long do you want your turbo to last, and PSI IS NOT POWER IT IS HEAT, airflow is power!
the t-25 is not a huge turbo by any stretch of the emagination it does infact run out of effency at 15psi and above 5000rpm. but that dosn't mean it wont produce higer gains above 15psi. i've seen a t-25 at 23psi hitting 270hp well outside effeceny, but still making #'s.
get a larger turbo, open up airflow, help out the VE, you can run higher heat pressures with cooler charged air. its effency. in stock form, effency is a word of the weak, and needs concoring; bigger and better!!
im confused.. i dont know what you want to know. all i can tell you is PSI will not destroy engines. airflow does. and the stock turbo 99.8% wont do it!

Never heard of a stock 2g BOV leaking at 7-9...12-15 is really more like it...gst is set at ~10psi and will do 12 with the BCS mod. Accurate boost gauge will be the most important mod you ever do. Stock internals are good for 400hp, on some cars....I wouldent push a 2g 7 bolt that far, just weaker in general, oil supply, thinner rods etc....but a 1g with a 6 bolt does 400 without problems 10x as much as a 2g. Don't just slap a bigger turbo on, you need supporting mods. Get a boost gauge, and do the bcs mod or get a boost controller and turn the boost up to 14-15 psi and thats really all you should run it at without risking the turbo.

You can run everything stock with t3/t4 turbo set at 35 pounds your stock motors is the shit and will never blow.

Don't tell the guy that dynod 550whp on a 7 bolt that he will blow it up at 400
scottsee put way too much effort into this question considering how many times it has been repeated. Boost 16psi max after you get a 1g BOV and a boost gauge.

it boils down to what kind of time i have on my hands.

My car boosts 15-16 psi and I dont even have a boost controller or the bcs removed.
