ac problem

1988 chevy silverado- the ac quit blowing cold air- my dad drained the R12 out, converted it over to a R134A- he didn't even put a whole can in it and it was reading full- well the compressor is not kicking on- we can't find the fuses to check- does nyone know where the fuses are??- are there any other things i should check??

On the accumulator (silver cylinder on the passenger side firewall) is a pressure cycling switch. Disconnect the electrical wiring and jumper the two wires in the harness. If the compressor comes on, then the switch is bad or you are low on freon.
If the compressor does not come on, check for 12 volts at the compressor connection.
