my buddy matt just got a 04 wrx with cat back and thats it, i have a 97 gst with 3in exhaust all the way back d/p and catback, intake, bov blahh blahh dont really matter but i no he'd win but how close would it be i wanna race him soon, wrx's are rated at 227 crank stock and gst 210 but u cant drop the clutch in a wrx because it doesnt drivetrain eats all the power from the 2-3 thousand rpm range, and his car drops towards the ground so my take offs are pretty good, and i feel i could stay with him am i wrong or would he smoke the sh*it out of me? were talking off the line, and then what about highway!

on a stop, if your friend is good at launching the car, it'll be a pretty hard race to come back. But I'm pretty sure you'll own him on the highway though. good luck!

if he just got it and hes not that good of a driver you might be able to keep up at a decent range 1 car lenght or so? if hes just as a good of a driver as you he will tear you up that is unless you have more go fast mods that you didnt add in your post. cause i raced an EVO with my GSX (still stock doing more important things right now) he ripped me a new asshole at the launch we were neck and neck as soon as me and him shifted in to 2nd his shit pulled hard on me by the time we hit 90 he had a good 2-3 car lenghts also hes a good as driver i dont think im too bad myself but the WRX is a 13.5 time and the evo is a 13.6 so he will win no matter what the question is how bad.

I dont know but I want to kno if me honduh hatch wit intake, plugs, wires and some cool tip from checkers can beat my buddies ford probe its got pretty good tires but all he has is neons and a black hood we both can drive good though WHO WILL WIN?

I don't know about you, but wrx's aren't 13.5. The wrx sti is. An evo would rape a regular wrx.

They arent all that. I raced an sti yesterday. He immediately got the lead but when I started to catch up(about to the bumper) a truck pulled out in our way and the race ended there. So if that was an sti then a regular would defiinitely lose

An sti would have stomped you. That was probably a regular WRX with a few basic mods.

As the first post stated "227hp", its no sti. Sti's run at 300hp.

That dosn't make it an sti. That makes it an sti look-alike. You should know by now that just because it looks like one, that dosn't make it one. Trust me, if it was an sti, it would have smoked you.

You can get all that from a dealer because im about to do that with my wrx. Well if i can get a good enough downpay.

I didnt think someone would do that with a wrx but I guess it makes sense now :confused: maybe Ill be able to beam 'em when I install my 16g

gonna need more than just putting on a bigger turbo to pull on an sti.

Many people love the way the STI looks compared to the WRX. Some people actually buy regular impreza and just swap a sti engine in there. EJ engines are easy to swap, well thats what i heard. This is a way to save money on the real thing and insurance plus have a fast car.

are they really that fast? Its factory 300hrspwr right? So technically with enough mods surrounding the 16g there would be a chance to beat one, or am I missing something? :sly:
