Won't stay running

One mile from home. Gas light, brake light and battery light come on and stay on. Get home and turn off ignition. When I try to start it up again it runs for a couple seconds then dies. Had the same, or seemingly the same problem a month ago. I had the alternater replaced and that seemed to help that time. Now the alternater is new. What are my other options? Please help.
