Very Stupid Bov Question....

hi all..im a noob...and i have a very stupid question, but i honestly dont know..so here goes.....
do you have to have a turbo to have a bov, or to put one on? i know it released pressure during shifts, and makes a cool sound (ha), and i want one ,but i dont have a turbo, just a stock engine....so can you put a bov on an engine w/o a turbo????

No, you can not have a BOV on a non turbo engine. But, you could always get one of those dumbass things on ebay that make the "whistle" sound to imitate a BOV lol. Honda people love those! :evillol:

Please don't get one of those things that just imitates the bov sound for your car. They're just a waste of money. Welcome to AF! Don't be afraid to ask questions just remember to be kind enough to do a search to see if the answer to your question is available first.

thanks for the replies guys...now i have a really bad question.....do the fake whistles actually, 'whistle' and sound stupid and obviously fake, or, are they compairable to a real bov? like...the TTTTTTTTSHHHHH sound...or does it sound like a high pitched (fake!!) whistle sound??
sorry man, i just always wanted one, and i figured somewhere down the line, they would invent a bov for just released clutch pressure,....but i guess you have to have a turbo..oh well.......

they really don't sound anything like a BOV, and if you were to pull up next to a turbo DSM and you revved, you might get smacked in the face :)

Just save up your money and do it the right way. That way people won't just drive around and laugh at you
