exhaust

i have been told that a borla catback exhaust system doesnt really do anything for the exhaust because the acutally gtp exhaust is pretty good, so my question is if i plan on modding my 2000 gtp up to about 340 whp should i put on the borla catback exhaust, if so what all should i put on it and what should i expect as far has horsepower gains
