slight shutter between 900-1300rpms

I am selling my 1997 Tahoe and this problem just popped up. I put some Techron fuel additive in it and it didn't clear up. What could be the possible problems? I have a buyer that wants the truck but wants this problem fixed before buying. PLEASE HELP.

It probably needs a tune-up, or at least plug wires. I changed the fuel filter about 5,000 miles ago.

plug wires are usually the last thing that will need to be replaced.

So I should pull the MAF and squirt it with some brake cleaner? If that doesn't fix it, then break down and do a tune-up? I'm just trying to get this thing sold without dishing out any cash.

Yes, on the back part of the MAF closest to the intake there will be two sensor wires. They might be cruded up.

Okay, I changed the plugs and went ahead and did the wires too. Problem was still there. I took it in to the shop and they said the fan clutch had a lot of play and was causing the vibration. It sounded shady but I went ahead and had them change it out as well as throw a new belt on it. I picked up the truck after the shop closed and the problem was still there. I called a friend that has a scanner and he hooked it up real quick. It's throwing out a code for the rear o2 sensors. I'm going to call around and get some pricing on these today.

Changing a rear O2 sensor shouldn't be too hard, but the rear sensors are only there to verify proper catalyst function... they do not actually affect the fuel system management like the forward O2 sensors do, so a fault in one of these should not be the cause of your shudder.

Did you change the Cap and Rotor with the plugs and wires? when my rear 02 sensor went out, my truck would not idle at all...:2cents:

I did not do the cap/rotor yet. The strange thing is that it idles fine but has a vibration/stutter in the certain rpm range. It even has this vibration coming down in the rpm range after you rev it.
