Display light on Radio

The radio display on my 1996 328i was going light to dim for some time but now is stuck on dim. I've heard this is a common problem on BMW's. Can anyone give me advice on how to repair it or where I can send it for repairs?

Exact same problem here.........it has been since 7/18/05 since you posted.......did you get an answer?

Just the response you see listed which suggests we join the Boston Chapter. I've been thinking about simply buying a used radio on Ebay. It appears you can get one for about $150 - $175.
