driving like a blindman...

so it started when I was busting down some road with the highbeams on. all of a sudden they start to go on and off basically at random. it takes about 30 seconds to a minute of them being on before they start jamming out. this all happened about a month ago. "alright, no highbeams anymore." I say, and they arent used except to beam the people that leave theirs on when driving by. problem solved. so then last week I am coming home, the lights had been on for about an hour, and they start going nuts on the low beams. good lord, I dont need the police talking to me. so I sit there with my hand on the plunger to turn it off and then on when the lights to go out. this seems to fix it for a few minutes. after a while it gets to the point where its like every fifteen seconds they go off, on, off again for like 3 seconds, then on for a minute.. horrible. the problem is isolated to the headlights only, all of the running lights stay on. I would tend to think that it lies somewhere in the plow light hookup, because anyone with a plow is familiar with the plow lights jamming out if the connection is the slightest bit loose. so thats the dilemma. oh and what the hell is the deal with minute mount. it takes like a friggin hour to get it all going if you dont know the drill. what a pain that system is. but, throw me your feedback, it would suck if I hit your dog when my lights were out, buddies...

Are your headlights fused or on a circuit breaker? Sounds like a breaker or relay overheating.

sounds like the plow hookup has something to do with it, also if you changed your bulbs and put off road 80 or 90 watt lights in, the harness for the lights are not heavy enough for them .
