Installing Trailer Brake Under Dash Need Help!

Hi, actually I have 2 problems.

I am trying to install a trailer brake in my 2002 Durango. I got the brake out of my Grand Cherokee so there are no instructions. There are only 4 wires to hook up. Power(White), Ground(Black), Brake Switch(Red), and Trailer Brake(Blue) these lines are actually marked on the wires. I found the brake switch wire(red) so that wire is covered and the power and ground (black and white)are taken care of. Does anyone know where to find the blue trailer brake wire? I have looked under the dash for an hour now. No blue wire. My Grand Cherokee had a single blue wire labelled "TRAILER BRAKE". Made it too easy. Any help?

Second question. I'm not sure what the part is called, but I think my vent rotator motor thingy-ma-gig is bad. When you switch from floor to defrost or to vents it wont stay on vents. So you either have floor or defrost. (I found this while I was looking for the blue wire) it seems to move ok but once I switch the dial it will rotate but doesn't stay where it turns to, it rotates back to it's original position. I'm assuming that part is bad. any ideas?

any help is much appreciated !!!

Thank you,
Scott

Hi, Bud,

Wonder if there might not be one, and you might have to run one with a trailer brake ground wire. Something to consider.

Bud, is there a blue wire at the rear of the truck?

Hi, thanks for the help. I had to run a wire from the trailer brake under the dash to the trailer harness in the rear. It works.

Thanks again for the help,
Scott
