I am surprised by how strong the Camaro Mustang fued is in that website. I don't understand how people can love one and hate the other. I could see how someone would prefer one however. If I didn't have a mustang I would definately have a camaro.

I am a fan of both but some people like one and don't care for the other. Oh well what ya going to do :dunno:.

Plus I noticed that the Firebird was slightly trashed in one of those definitions and its basically the same car (for 3rd Gens and 4th Gens anyway).

i think your one something man, i just checked that and i dont think they are slightly trashing the firebird, they are slightly trashing the camaro... maybe i did read enough of it.. only read to like 6 or 7...

its not a wounder how strong that camaro vs. mustang war is till this day, lets be real if not that then it would be....

2- camaro vs. viper...lets be real with this one, we are already killing vets what else would be next..the viper.
3-mustang vs. evo..now im gonna give it to the pony boys even thats not cool for a evo driver, the mustang will stomp the piss out of it.(after all it is the second best to a camaro, it can beat most cars) just not the camaro. see with out the bickering and carrying on we do at one another we would be bored as hell and life would suck, and we wouldnt have great races on the streets...um i mean track.

If not for rivalry we wouldn't all be going for tha almighty king of the road status and while we can always improve upon a good thing, I hate to say it but the Cobra's stock for stock are kicking our asses right now, Although who knows what GM is hiding behind the velvet curtain. Hopefully we will all be pleased come 2007

General Motor's plans for a rear-drive Buick Velite sedan, convertible or anything else is offically dead. The murder also affects any rear-drive Chevy coupe, Camaro, Chevelle or otherwise. While developement of the bew Zeta platform was scaled back months ago, the decision to pull the plug on these new cars is much more recent. The only sub-Cadillac/Corvette rear-drive program going forth <besides the sky and solstice> is the next-gen GTO, expected as a 2008 model year.

Well if I was GM and trying to surprise the public. I would feed false rumors too. I would bet good money we have a new camaro by 2010. I am not sure if 2007 will be the return for sure but I am sure they will not squish one of there most popular cars for good.

I would say that on average the camaros handle better than mustangs. The cobras and the 05 GT are sort of an exception, they may handle equal or better, don't know I haven't driven an 05 yet but it is promising. Like I said though Camaros usually take the cake in handling.

With how the bringing back old cars trend is I agree. I wouldn't be surprized if they just wanted to make it badass and come out right honestly i still think the ls2 gto is a flop, charger don't start me and look at the mustang the camaros top rival in sales selling like hotcakes!!

Ford really did it right unlike pontiac and dodge least to me I mean most any 20 somthing kid can get a GT stang now with the imports both euro and asian coming it its even more a stress to the US makers chevy can't just abadon the buyers that want the camaro and that name will also drag in older buyers too.

from a guy whos owned both cars i think they are damn near the same in handling, but with a few bucks u can make either car hang some turnes, and yes ford did do something very right, they made cars that people wanted and didnt have to sell their soul to own. i been saying it for ever they killed when it came to marketing, while gm let moms, and grandmoms handle everything on our end... hence the strong suv pull gm has. now as for the goat, yeah i still say pontiac make all the cars look like knock off's of one another but the gto is not bad. and if u ever get to not only sit in one, but drive it....maaaaaaaaaan! i talked alot of trash about that car but we had a gto dyno day and one of the guys showed me what the car had to offer...nice!. now the charger...its the damn magnum with a trunk...who r they fooling?? and as for being affordable well i guess u can always go out and get a cobolt...the ss is nice i would drive it.

i sawa video of a cobalt ss vs a srt-4 and the srt-4 walked it like it was a kid on a big wheel, (srt-4 was on low boost too.)

in the camaro vs stang issue, the only real way to compair is stock for stock, once you get into mods all bets are off and there is no basis for comparison. The best way ive heard the comparison sumd up was in an issue of road and track, where they said the camaro was low, wide, connected to the road, to an almost uncomforateable level, and serious, more of a track car, whereas the mustang was high, had great all around visibility, and was generally more fun and light hearted to drive. so i think you pretty much match the car to your driving style, i am a very serious driver, i dont even talk to people in the car while im driving, so the camaro just matched my driving style better.

with the GTO, i still shake my head at people who trash talk it, i dont know what else people want, two doors, six speed, 400hp 6.0L V8, 13 second quarter miles, outruns, and outhandles almost everything in its class, has a damn good lookin interior, an the outside is pretty slick too. i see no room for complaints. they even designed the exhaust specificlly to sound like an old musclecar. All that and its 10k less than a vette. shit, if i had the money i might just become a pontiac man.

OH and for the record, the Zeta platform is not dead, Holden is designing several cars on the Zeta platform despite chevys decision to shelve it in favor of allocating their resources to the truck market. What i dont understand is why does chevy do any truck work when they are so closely connected with GMC, let GMC do all the truck shit, they dont have cars afterall, and Chevy focuses on their car lines. id like to have the decision to put both companies into truck design explained to me in busness terms by the person who made the call, just so i could hit them in the head with a lead pipe.

10k less then that EVO STI g35 4 door *g35 2 door also* 6 speed all aprox 300 HP AWD *or RWD*

I think the g35 is way nicer car granted not as fast none are but with that extra 10K if speed matters that much thats easy fix.

I also think the GTOs are very blah looking not saying it sucks at life just nothing I find worthy of being a GTO and the fact the volume knob is on the other side of radio does piss me off thats just lazy. If they came up with some other name and it was its own platform it would be even better but even with its upsides all i can say is its OK.

well as far as the looks of the car, we do all realize the only really flashy GTO was the judge right??? the original GTO was just a rebadged Tempest which was a bargan bottom dollar car. they just threw a huge engine and a four speed in it. so for me, the understated and tastefull styleing of the new GTO fits just perfect and honors the nameplate it wears. but i guess to each his or her own. we could talk value and such regarding the EVO, but if your putting down the GTO for its heritage i fail to see how an EVO does a better job of representing the name ???? The G35 is certainly a nice car, as is its sister the 350Z, but again, they arent GTO's. Im just saying that GM did a bad ass job bringing back an old namesake, certainly better than they did with the Impala. So i choose to commend them for it, rather than complane about little details i dont agree with, bottom line, the car as a whole is a GTO, to the bone.

Oh I know that but I just really dont like the looks at all I thought the Tempest was a neat looking car but looks are all each persons tastes no wrong or right.

To me the GTO seems out of reach for any youth while lucky few *those who in days of yore would have went with a GTO* can now get a nice car for less.

Im with IROC with this one about the GTO because I love the way it looks, dont care what people say it being a grand am/prix with diff badging, if thats what you think about it, fine, but I think it looks freaking muscluar from the front, side and back which is what you will see 99% of the time.

The Charger..it's alright, but packs about 50 more HP than the Stang and it's heavier making it slower and all that for about 4K or so more, not really cool especially since Dodge is making a big deal about it's Hemi engine which isnt that great now. (Look at August's Motor Treand for the comparasion) I really wish they didnt make a Charger that is just a Magnum with a new nose and a trunk..I mean it's a good car and all but shouldnt of had called it the Charger.
